Catalyst Labs is a leading talent agency specialized in applied AI, ML, and data science, partnering with founders and C-level leaders in prestigious start‑up environments. The role is with our client, a fast‑growing standards and insurance startup that is reinventing how enterprises adopt AI agents and providing the industry’s first AI agent standard paired with bespoke insurance coverage.

• Lead end‑to‑end development of AI agent products and infrastructure with the founding team.
• Build and scale evaluation pipelines to automatically detect failures in deployed AI agents (hallucinations, jailbreaks, brand risks, data leakage).
• Design and implement gold‑standard processes for secure, safe, and reliable AI agents.
• Develop and maintain full‑stack systems (Python/Lang Chain backend, React/Type Script frontend).
• Create monitoring tools, filters, and authorization frameworks for AI agent builders.
• Ship products frequently, gather user feedback, and iterate rapidly to improve reliability and safety.
• Work on‑site in San Francisco in a fast‑paced, high‑agency startup environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1+ years as an AI software engineer with active coding responsibilities.
• Proven expertise building AI agents or LLM‑based systems.
• Founding or early‑stage startup experience with ownership of end‑to‑end product development.
• Strong understanding of AI evaluation methodologies and deployment reliability standards.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and ability to translate technical impact to business terms.
• Evidence of high agency, ownership, and execution velocity.
• Willingness to work full‑time on‑site in San Francisco.
