Position Purpose
At Saint Francis Hospital the Companion -
Patient Safety Attendant will support a safe environment for patients by providing continuous observation and/or surveillance of assigned patients.
What you will do
Responsible for verbal redirection of the patient(s) from engaging in potential at risk behaviors.
Notify appropriate professional staff of patient’s needs including unsafe behaviors and appropriate documentation on patients’ medical records along with other documents, such as handoff report.
Assist patient(s) with activities of daily living and may include other duties as assigned.
Education:
H igh school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a hospital setting helpful.Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (Red Cross of AHA)
Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, visitors, staff and others. Able to maintain professionalism during stressful and difficult situations.
Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
Per Diem with rotation
