Shift: Day Shift
Position PurposeImplement the Infection Prevention & Control program to minimize the acquisition and spread of infection in patients and personnel. RN or Medical Technologist strongly preferred
What You Will Do- Serve as an expert in infection prevention and control and a consultant and resource for departments and hospital personnel in matters of infection prevention and control
- Educate concerning matters of infection prevention and control and infections
- Teach residents and medical students rotating on the Infectious Disease service
- Conduct research studies in the fields of Infectious Disease and Epidemiology
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Medical Technology, Microbiology, Epidemiology or related field
- 3 years' clinical experience in a hospital, laboratory, infection prevention or epidemiology
- IF Registered Nurse: RN license in Massachusetts; IF Medical Technologist:
American Society of Clinical Pathologists [MT (ASCP)] or Microbiology certification by ASCP, ASM or HEW - Certification in Infection Control (CIC) highly desired
- Basic knowledge of statistics and epidemiologic methods
- Full time 40hr salaried position. M-F days with some weekend availability if situations arise
