Day Shift

• Under the supervision of laboratory staff, you will answer pneumatic tube station communications and receive specimens from the ED and other locations, prioritize specimens (stat, routine, stroke, sepsis, etc.), and deliver for testing to the automated line or manual bench within the lab.
• Obtain and/or process specimens using appropriate techniques to maintain the integrity and identification of the patient and/or specimen.
• Verify that the appropriate specimen has been received for the test requested and perform the appropriate accessioning in the computer system.
• Confirm all patient records using departmental guidelines and correct as necessary.

• 40 hours, Day Shift, with weekend and holiday rotation

• High School Diploma.
• Laboratory experience, specimen processing preferred; or clinical office experience with medical terminology.
