POSITION SUMMARY

The Bilingual Crisis Clinician provides crisis assessment, intervention and stabilization clinical and case management services for children birth through age 17. The clinician will respond out in the community to provide crisis intervention services and safety planning. May work with emergency departments, inpatient units and congregate care providers to identify and coordinate crisis and diversionary planning for high needs youth in need of intensive community-based planning to prevent multiple admissions to such settings and otherwise promote the use of MCIS to coordinate intensive plans for high needs youth.

SALARY

Eligible for a $5k sign on bonus!

Half paid upon hire and half after one year.

LOCATION

Hartford, CT

SCHEDULE

Full-time 40 hours a week- two afternoon/evening shifts per week required 2-10pm and 11-7pm
- No on call or weekend services.

Possibility for hybrid work.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Doctoral degree in Psychology or Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Counseling. Candidate must be able to speak fluently in both English and Spanish.

Licensure Requirements for Clinical Positions

Must hold one of the following credentials: to start employment

LMSW, LCSW, LMFTA, LMFT, LPCA, LPC or licensed or license-eligible Psychologist in the State of Connecticut.

Valid Drivers License is required. Safely operates vehicle in the community, based on program needs

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts program specific screening and evaluation, and formulates diagnosis in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM). Develops and documents, clear clinical formulations, crisis and treatment plans that are individualized and measurable, developed in collaboration with the client/family and others as relevant.

Demonstrates knowledge of psychopathology, crisis theory and other behavioral health concerns and primary modalities of psychotherapeutic intervention. Triages clinical emergencies and implements program specific safety and consultation protocols. Utilizes best practices and evidenced based practice models where appropriate and adheres to model and program expectations.

Provides mobile service in community settings outside of the office (e.g., homes, schools, hospitals, institutions, other community locations) as defined by the program. May transport clients to appointments or linkages as appropriate.

Demonstrates knowledge of internal and external levels of care, referral processes and resources. Makes clinically appropriate referrals for identified service needs in a timely manner.

Communicates in a positive, effective manner with client, family, and all internal and external providers. Attends any required meetings.

May work with emergency departments, inpatient units and congregate care providers to identify and coordinate crisis and diversionary planning for high needs youth in need of intensive community based planning to prevent multiple admissions to such settings and otherwise promote the use of MCIS to coordinate intensive plans for high needs youth.
