Practice Manager II; GI – Connecticut Children’s

This strategic leadership position will manage the overall operations of the practice, ensuring a vision and strategy for future growth. The Practice Manager II also provides expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care, resolves most patient complaints promptly, and escalates issues as necessary. The role upholds the Connecticut Children’s Specialty Group (CCSG) code of conduct, compliance, and vision and values of CCSG.

Responsibilities
  • Develop vision for practice and execute plans to achieve vision, establishing criteria, formulating projects/initiatives, owning execution, and assessing results.
  • Identify strategy for growth and execute plans to achieve growth goals.
  • Manage flow of the clinic to ensure compliance, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
  • Problem solve and address issues raised by physicians, employees, and patients.
  • Market the practice in the local community.
  • Carry out all established policies.
  • Full profit and loss responsibility of the physician practice, including revenue, expenses, and budgeting.
  • Mentor the Practice Manager I with individual growth and accountability to improve career track goals.
  • Direct, supervise, and coach front office and clinical staff daily.
  • Mentor clinic staff for the development of new skills.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent (preferred).

Experience: Minimum three to five years of leadership or management experience in a medical office, proven track record in growing physician practice revenues and volumes, and physician practice marketing expertise. Preferred:
Experience with multiple providers, staff, and specialties; experience with Electronic Medical Record Systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Broad knowledge of organizational relationships and partnerships within the organization.
  • Experience in organizing policies, procedures, systems, and objectives.
  • Knowledge of compliance systems.
  • Fiscal management and human resource management techniques.
  • Accounting systems, insurance billing and collecting, budgeting processes.
  • Planning, organizing, supervising.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Initiative, judgment, problem-solving, decision-making.
  • Effective relationship building with medical and administrative staff, patients, and public.
  • Counsel/discipline personnel as needed.
  • Delegate authority and responsibility to staff.
  • Influence others on critical, complex, or sensitive information.
  • Handle information confidentially.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Process background checks every 5 years.
