Position Purpose
Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is looking for a Surgical Scheduler to join the Plastic Surgery team located in Hartford. The Surgical Scheduler schedules pre and postoperative surgical procedures under the direction of the provider, coordinates the OR and surgeon's schedule, and obtains demographic and insurance information, providing details to patients.

DescriptionThe Surgical Scheduler schedules pre and postoperative surgical procedures under the direction of the provider and is responsible for coordinating the OR and surgeon's schedule. The role requires effective communication with patients and families, obtaining demographic and insurance information, and providing detailed procedural information.
What You Will Do- Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with colleagues, patients, and family members.
- Educate patients and family members so that they have a transparent understanding of the care being provided.
- Use computer-based applications (E-MAR, clinical documentation), email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrate problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of healthcare office experience; medical terminology preferred.
- Prior surgical scheduling experience highly preferred.
- Proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment and skill navigating through Epic and Epic Care Surgical booking protocols; medical terminology and Epic experience desirable. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal skills, and considerable tact required.
