Introduction
The Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) is accepting applications from current agency employees for a Health Program Supervisor position in Hartford.
Position Highlights- First Shift.
- Permanent, full‑time (40 hours per week).
- Monday‑Friday.
- Location:
450 Columbus Boulevard, Hartford. - Hybrid role with flexibility to work remotely at times.
- Direct staff and operations of the division under the State Program Manager – Health Information & Outreach.
- Assist in coordinating, planning, and managing division activities.
- Schedule, assign, oversee, and review staff work.
- Research and respond to complex inquiries from consumers, staff, and stakeholders.
- Provide staff training and assistance.
- Contribute to policy development and program goal formulation, tracking progress.
- Negotiate and actively pursue continuation of program funding.
- Develop statistical and technical reports and other data related to drugs, medical devices, cosmetics, medical marijuana, and adult‑use cannabis.
- Collaborate with other agencies on data‑sharing agreements.
- Attend meetings and conferences on behalf of the Director or State Program Manager.
- Perform related duties as required.
The mission of the State of Connecticut and DCP is to promote a fair and equitable marketplace and ensure safe products and services for consumers. The Drug Control Division oversees compliance and enforcement of all laws and regulations concerning the sale and distribution of drugs, the Prescription Monitoring Program, and related activities.
Minimum Qualifications- Eight (8) years of professional experience in a health organization.
- At least one (1) year of advanced‑level experience in health‑care program administration, health‑systems agency, or other health‑care organization in one of the following areas:
- Grant writing or monitoring.
- Formal program planning, development, management, or evaluation.
- Program consultation.
- College training may substitute for general experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one‑half (1/2) year of experience up to a maximum of four (4) years for a bachelor’s degree.
- A master’s degree in health education, hospital administration, public administration, or public health may substitute for one (1) additional year of general experience.
- For state employees, one (1) year as a Health Program Associate may substitute for general and special experience.
- Experience interpreting statutes and regulations related to prescribing, dispensing, and monitoring prescription medications.
- Experience developing education and training materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience writing grant applications, monitoring contract compliance, and writing program reports.
- Experience supervising and mentoring professional staff.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe products, and prescription monitoring software.
Incumbents may be required to travel.
