Shift: Full and part time openings on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift: 1st: 7am-3:30pm, 2nd shift: 3pm-11:30pm, 3rd shift: 11pm-7:30am EOW & EOH

Job Overview

Hartford Hospital, a tertiary care teaching hospital, is actively hiring Emergency Department Patient Care Technicians (PCT, PCA, CNA) to join our dynamic team in Hartford, Connecticut. Whether you’re an experienced CNA or new to healthcare, we want to speak with you!

The Emergency Department at Hartford Hospital is one of the busiest EDs in Connecticut, accredited Level 1 Trauma Center, chest pain center and comprehensive stroke center, treating patients of the highest acuity. Combined with an 108‑bed capacity and a 19‑bed ED Observation Unit, we treat an average of 109,000 patients annually.

Responsibilities
  • Movement of patients throughout the department
  • Completion of point‑of‑care testing, including EKGs and finger sticks
  • Continuous observation of high‑risk patients
  • Assistance with activities of daily living
  • Performing CPR
  • Proactive hourly rounding on patients
  • Obtaining vital signs
  • Documenting within the electronic medical record
  • Other duties as assigned by nursing leadership
Qualifications
  • No experience required; training on‑site provided.
  • High‑school diploma.dom? 177? GED preferred.
  • Certifications such as CNA, CPCT/A, EMT or CMA are eligible for advancement.
  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 2表达 months of hire.
