Job Overview
Trinity Health of New England Medical Group is seeking a Medical Secretary to join our Oncology team. This Full‑time Day Shift position supports the healthcare team with secretarial and direct patient care duties to ensure efficient operations for the department.
Responsibilities- Perform patient greeting and check‑in.
- Manage all incoming calls and provide exceptional customer service in person and over the phone with patients, staff, and family members. Triage phone calls as appropriate.
- Schedule appointments and procedures for exams and regularly communicate with office staff.
- Prepare and maintain patient charts and obtain pre‑certifications and authorizations for patients’ exams.
- Coordinate daily patient flow and document chief complaint, allergies, vitals, and medications.
- Explain test procedures to patients and interpret purpose as directed by the physician.
- Maintain proficiency with office computer systems and perform clerical duties in a fast‑paced environment.
- Support clinical staff with clerical tasks with positive energy.
- Associate degree.
- Medical Administrator Certificate preferred.
- CPR certification.
- Minimum of one‑year experience in a hospital, medical environment, or health‑related field preferred.
- Good interpersonal skills, knowledge of outpatient routines/procedures, and judgment appropriate to assigned responsibilities.
