Location:
80 Seymour Street (10008). Shift: full-time position, 40 hours, M-F day shift with weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation. Hartford Health Care is a comprehensive healthcare network in Connecticut. Hartford Hospital is a Level I trauma center and a teaching hospital with leading facilities in medical simulation, robotics, and patient safety.
The Hartford Health Care Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking experienced Cardiac Sonographers to join the Non-Invasive Cardiology team at Hartford Hospital. The Echo Cardiology department is high-volume and fast-paced, performing over 14,000 procedures last year and expanding with the Structural Heart team.
Responsibilities- Perform transthoracic echocardiography and stress echo studies
- Acquire and analyze myocardial strain and 3D imaging
- Assist in transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and participate in research studies
- Support fellowship training for Cardiology Fellows and contribute to quality improvement initiatives by participating in monthly echo conferences
- Collaborate effectively with the department and hospital teams to provide high-quality services through communication, cooperation, and patient-centered care
- Record images and document examinations with appropriate billing to ensure proper charging and reimbursement
- Graduate of an approved cardiovascular program
- Associates Degree in Health Care
- Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field preferred
- CPR Certification required
- One to two years of previous echo experience in a hospital setting preferred
- Experience with two-dimensional, M-mode, Doppler, TEE and stress echo required
- Familiarity with 3D and strain imaging
- Registered RDCS/CCI or eligible for registration; if not registered, must attain registration within one year
- Moderate computer skills
