- Central Operations role at Connecticut Children's.

Ensure optimal drug therapy by designing therapy, monitoring and dispensing medications, and directing the work of supportive staff to maximize positive patient outcomes. Reports to Pharmacy Supervisor.

• Supervises supportive personnel (e.g., pharmacy technician and associates) to ensure safe and accurate drug preparation and dispensing, complying with regulations.
• Optimizes drug therapy for patients by designing appropriate, effective, and cost-efficient treatment plans.
• May provide direct patient care, including pain management, evaluation, recommendations, and follow-up as requested by physicians.
• Maintains drug therapy safety through screening mechanisms and input from healthcare providers, patients, and families to prevent and resolve adverse drug events.
• Participates in healthcare team activities to provide drug information.
• Investigates and resolves pharmacy-related problems through studies and problem-solving techniques to improve medication use systems.
• Documents interventions and outcomes manually or electronically for quality improvement.
• May serve as charge pharmacist periodically.
• Supports organizational mission, values, and standards.

• BS degree in Pharmacy required.
• Hospital pharmacy experience required.
• Pharmacy residency or advanced training preferred.
• Connecticut Pharmacy license required.
