Position at Health Care Resource Centers:
Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed!
Substance Abuse Counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisted programs and providing techniques for addressing opioid addiction. The counselor conducts group sessions and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Additionally, the counselor evaluates patients’ progress during therapy and collaborates with doctors, nurses, and therapists to achieve the best overall outcome.
Responsibilities- Conduct individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination.
- Facilitate, establish, and review initial treatment plans with each patient.
- Complete bio-psychosocial assessment.
- Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment.
- Develop and participate in individual or group patient teaching projects.
- Respond, as needed, to patient grievances and complaints.
- Carry out other related duties as determined by supervisor.
- Required:
Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification (CADC). - Preferred: LCSW/LICSW, LMHC and/or LADC.
- Demonstrated counseling experience.
- Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals.
- Positive, non-judgmental, accepting attitude toward patients.
- Bi‑Lingual preferred.
- Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen.
