Financial Analyst Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Financial Analyst, FP&A to support financial planning, analysis, and pricing activities within a distribution environment. This role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, and department leaders to provide timely, accurate insights that support business decisions, improve profitability, and strengthen forecasting accuracy.

• Support the annual budgeting process, which typically runs from August through Thanksgiving
• Partner with department budget owners to build, review, and update budgets and forecasts
• Maintain and update budget templates and planning tools
• Assist with headcount planning and related financial analysis
• Build, maintain, and update financial models in Excel
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support leadership and operational decision-making
• Review pricing requests from the Sales team
• Analyze margins and profitability across customers, products, and channels
• Support the pricing approval process with clear financial analysis and recommendations
• Act as a key FP&A point of contact for Sales, Marketing, and department leaders
• Collaborate cross-functionally to assess the financial impact of business initiatives
• Support special projects and continuous improvement efforts as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• 4–7 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or corporate finance
• Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or a similar operational environment preferred
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
• Effective communication skills and comfort partnering with non-finance stakeholders
