The role of Assistant Director & Associate Actuary is a key position within the Risk and Profitability Measurement (RPM) team supporting The Hartford’s capital attribution process for all P&C lines. This position will have a holistic view of the enterprise’s P&C operations and opportunities to collaborate with business partners across the organization (e.g., Actuarial Pricing and Reserving, ERM, Treasury, and Finance).

This individual contributes to RPM’s reporting function for all P&C lines and supports Return on Equity (ROE) modeling, a primary measure of risk and return at The Hartford.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and actuarial skills, an interest in capital concepts, and the ability to effectively communicate technical ideas.

This position can be part of our Actuarial Student Program for individuals meeting the entry requirements.
** Responsibilities*
* ** Experience & Skills
** including some experience in ERM or capital modeling.
5+ years of experience in the insurance industry with expertise in actuarial, financial/statistical modeling and analytics ACAS/ASA (or equivalent experience) preferred or min 6-7 actuarial exams. Candidates with actuarial experience not pursuing exams will also be considered. Strong technical/analytical skills, including advanced subject matter expertise in MS Excel and empirical model building.

Experience with R/Python is a plus.
· Familiarity with capital modeling concepts is a plus. Working knowledge of corporate finance, financial management, and economics is a plus.

Effective oral and written communications skills. Teamwork skills, including the ability to effectively collaborate with individuals across various teams.
