STV is seeking a Resident Engineer for our Transportation Northeast department in Hartford, CT
Responsibilities- Oversee and direct construction projects related to highway/bridges, facilities/buildings, or rail/transit projects from conception to closeout.
- Ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and verifying contractor submissions.
- Identify and document nonconforming work and ensure timely corrective action.
- Oversee and manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and change orders.
- Review and ensure DWR’s are completed accurately and timely.
- Monitor contractor performance, project schedules, milestones, project progress, and critical path.
- Supervise and mentor inspectors and field technicians to ensure proper coverage and documentation.
- Serve as the primary contact with CTDOT and project stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and agency representatives, to facilitate project success.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and recommendations regarding construction issues.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) with 8 years of experience or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) with 10 years of experience. Experience on transportation infrastructure projects preferred.
- Strong understanding of CTDOT CEI processes, contract administration, and construction documentation.
- Knowledge of construction materials and methods.
- Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site as needed.
- Working knowledge of COMPASS and AASHTOWare Project.
- NETTCP – Concrete Inspector, ACI – Concrete Certification, NETTCP – HMA Paving Inspector, NACE, AMP, or BCI – Coating Inspector, and ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor certifications.
