Fluid Power Field/Project/Sales Engineer
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Fluid Power Field/Project/Sales Engineer to join their team, serving customers across Connecticut, New York City, Long Island, and Lower New York State. This is not a Sales position — it’s an Engineering role for a hands‑on problem solver who thrives on designing, starting up, and troubleshooting hydraulic systems in the field. As a key member of their team, you will work directly with their customers’ engineering staff to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
You will be supported by a world‑class in‑house engineering team and will undergo 4–6 weeks of comprehensive training at our York, PA facility. LOCATION: Connecticut (ideal) or Lower New York State / New York City / Long Island / Connecticut Region
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, start up, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems for customer applications
- Serve as a technical resource and trusted partner for customer engineering teams
- Identify, analyze, and resolve system issues quickly and independently
- Provide on‑site support as needed — including occasional 24/7 availability for urgent situations
- Collaborate closely with our internal engineering team to deliver customized solutions
- Maintain strong relationships with customers by focusing on problem‑solving, not paperwork
(No sales quotas, forecasts, or call reports required — your primary duty is to solve your customer’s problems.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME) or Electrical Engineering (EE) required
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience (hydraulics background not required — full training provided)
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and hands‑on technical skills
- Self‑motivated, independent, and decisive problem solver
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory and be available for customer needs as required
