Position: Regional Sector Leader, Water Treatment US North

Overview

Regional Sector Leader, Water Treatment US North – join Stantec to lead our Water regional leadership team. This role directs work with technical rigor, an innovative spirit, and a vision for solving the world’s greatest water challenges. You will lead and develop talent, contribute to a collaborative leadership culture, and help redefine what’s possible in drinking water treatment across the US North region.

Our regions span from New England to Virginia along the east coast, surrounding the Great Lakes and extending to the Dakotas and Nebraska. You will help grow our water treatment capabilities, engage with key clients, and elevate Stantec’s brand through thought leadership and technical excellence.

Your Opportunity

The Regional Sector Leader (RSL) is an integral part of the Water regional leadership team, directing projects with technical rigor and an innovative approach. You will translate strategy into actionable initiatives for the US North geography, align resources and capabilities, and drive business growth. You will engage with clients to create technical differentiators and establish a strong industry presence.

Reporting to the North America Water Treatment Sector Leader, you will collaborate to align resources, capabilities, and growth objectives across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the US North Regional Growth Leader to identify and support strategic pursuits with local Business Leaders
  • Act as a liaison between local/regional teams and the North American Sector Leader and practice community to leverage technical skills locally
  • Reinforce our brand as a leader in water treatment through industry participation, thought leadership, and engagement with strategic clients
  • Provide leadership to water treatment professionals
  • Lead technical delivery of drinking water planning and/or design projects and regularly engage with clients
  • Participate in industry associations
  • Leverage understanding of industry drivers, market trends, and regulatory requirements to grow the water treatment portfolio in US North
  • Identify how technology changes affect clients and our business
  • Collaborate across the region to share knowledge and resources
  • Contribute to the North America Water Treatment Team to implement strategy and bring internal resources to projects
  • Assist with recruiting, retaining, and inspiring a team of water treatment professionals at multiple levels
  • Engage in project delivery as a subject matter expert, applying best practices and new technologies
  • Work with sector leaders, regional growth teams, client managers, project delivery teams, and the Stantec Institute to leverage resources
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Health and Safety within Stantec
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Understanding of the water market and trends with established relationships with relevant organizations
  • Experience delivering complex water treatment projects with strong knowledge of drinking water processes and regulations
  • Experience with planning, pilot/bench testing, and design projects; familiar with regulations and treatment concepts
  • Ability to lead and inspire teams and uphold Stantec’s values
  • Strategic thinking about technologies, regulations, markets, and economic issues to drive sector growth
  • Proven client communications and technical proposal writing skills
  • Commitment to Health, Safety and Environment; embraces inclusion and diversity
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, team-oriented, and with high integrity
  • Located in US North with ability to travel across North America
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Chemical, Civil, Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 15 years of directly relevant experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
Pay and Benefits
  • Pay ranges vary by location and are provided where required by law
  • Locations in MN, VT, & various CA, NY areas:
    Min $140,000 – Max $216,900
  • Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & various CA, NJ areas:
    Min $154,000 – Max $238,600
  • Locations in WA, DC & various CA areas:
    Min $165,200 – Max $255,900
  • Locations in NYC & CA (Bay Area) & NJ (RP):
    Min $176,400 – Max $273,300
