Elementary School, Special Education Teacher

EducationJumoke Academy seeks a Special Education teacher who is committed to excellence for every child and will accept nothing less. This individual must be highly motivated and mission-driven; a teacher who sweats the small stuff without losing sight of the big picture.
The ideal teacher candidate will have a proven track record of:
- Driving for results
- Using data to drive and inform instruction
- Inspiring, engaging, and empowering students and families
- Establishing and maintaining a culture of high expectations
- Building effective relationships with students, families and peers
- Ensuring fidelity to curriculum, instructional excellence and best-practices in assessment
- Embracing the challenges facing urban schools with a mantra of "No Excuses" and a willingness to do "Whatever it takes."
Certification/License: CT State Certification (265 or similar)
Education:
An accredited Bachelor's or Masters Degree
Experience:
At least one year of teaching experience at the intermediate elementary level
