• Building effective relationships with students, families and peers
• Ensuring fidelity to curriculum, instructional excellence and best-practices in assessment
• Embracing the challenges facing urban schools with a mantra of "No Excuses" and a willingness to do "Whatever it takes."
• Must be able to proficiently play and teach brass/ wood wind instruments and form a playing band.

• Certification/License:
  Connecticut State 049 Certification
• Education:
  
  An accredited Bachelor's or Masters Degree
• Experience:
  
  At least three years of teaching experience at the middle school level

Immediate Supervisor:
School Principal

Ten month work year. Standard teacher work schedule, including attendance at professional development, open houses, parent conferences and staff meetings as needed.
