Job Description:

Hartford Public Schools is excited to announce our search for a Principal to lead Betances STEM Magnet School-a thriving middle school community where students develop the critical thinking skills, STEM knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed in an ever-changing world.

We're looking for a visionary educational leader who brings both heart and expertise to this role. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

* A genuine passion for educating young people and unlocking their full potential

* Deep commitment to equity-focused practices that close achievement gaps

* Proven ability to create learning environments where all students thrive

* Strong instructional leadership centered on student learning and growth

* Experience with STEM integration and project-based learning methodologies

* Understanding of the unique academic, social, and emotional needs of middle school students

This leader will partner authentically with families, faculty, and staff to cultivate a culture of respect, joy, and belonging-creating the conditions for both students and educators to flourish.

Key qualifications include:

* Connecticut certification in Intermediate Administration and Supervision (092)

* Five years of successful teaching experience in urban/multicultural settings

* At least one year of successful experience as an assistant principal

* Experience with magnet school practices and STEM curriculum implementation, including experience with Project Lead The Way

Salary Range: $139,248 to $158,514 (12-month position), in accordance with the Hartford Principals' and Supervisors' Assocation collective bargaining agreement
