Position Summary

The CT Community College system offers two‑year liberal arts degree programs and a broad range of career, occupational and technical certificate and non‑credit programs to meet the learning needs of the populations served. Among those programs are courses in subject areas that prepare students for occupations and careers in fields supporting health care, including Nursing and Allied Health Programs. The Clinical Coordinator directs the clinical practice portion of courses in one of these allied health fields at a Community College.

The incumbent’s work includes both clinical program administration and teaching of students in the clinical setting, laboratory, and simulation lab settings.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical practicum administration – administer the clinical practicum for assigned nursing students.
  • Clinical instruction – contribute to the quality of student clinical instruction, including simulation.
  • Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies.
  • Service on assigned committees and task forces.
  • Attendance at committee, staff, informational, and professional meetings, which may include evening or weekend events.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field with one (1) or more years of experience in a related field; or a combination of education, training, and experience that would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties.
  • Professional competence in Nursing.
  • Current CT license in Nursing.
  • Clinical instruction and course design experience, including simulation.
  • Methods of testing and assessing student performance in clinical settings.
  • Comprehensive familiarity with accreditation requirements in assigned disciplines.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years or more of acute care in Medical/Surgical Nursing.
  • One (1) year of simulation experience.
  • One (1) or more years teaching in a Clinical Nursing program.
Salary and Benefits

Minimum Salary range: $62,169 to $66,338 approximate annual. The salary will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications such as education and job‑related experience, and internal equity.
