VP & Senior Corporate Counsel

Sr. Corporate Counsel & Assistant General Counsel (Insurance COLI/BOLI)

This position will report to the GC and be in line to succeed the current GC in 2-3 years.

We are working with a growing institutional Insurance BGA looking to hire a seasoned Sr Corporate Counsel with deep expertise in the Insurance and Employee Benefits industry. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of COLI / BOLI products, Executive Benefits and other NQDC products. You will need to be able to work well with the C level Sr. leaders, handle multiple projects, problem solve, anticipate changes, and help with deals and client acquisition meetings.

This is a generalist role, so we are looking for someone with a wide range of experience in this space.

Other knowledge and experience we are looking for would include experience with (Taxation) or Taxable events due to investments, insurance payments, etc. Being able to do research in these areas is also needed. Privacy, Trade Secrets, cyber and Securities knowledge is also important.

You will work closely with and support most all areas of the business including the Sales and Client Acquisition team, working with Sr leadership on all general issues, working with clients and external partners, but typically not outside counsel. Hands on officer level "generalist" corporate role working across the organization.

• 7-10+ years of Corporate Counsel experience
• 3-5+ years of specific Insurance industry experience related to COLI/BOLI, NQDC and Executive Benefits.
• Generalist counsel experience
• JD from an accredited school
• Adaptable and easy to work with, wants to be part of a team
• Able to deliver exceptional results
• Interested in the next step opportunity for the GC role (succession planning)

Current or very recent experience with these products is expected and required.
