We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Hartford, Connecticut. This role involves managing comprehensive accounting processes for multiple real estate entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with standards. The ideal candidate will excel in financial analysis, property-level accounting, and collaborative efforts with various teams.

Responsibilities:

- Perform full-cycle accounting tasks, including the preparation of journal entries, maintaining general ledger accounts, and overseeing month-end close processes.

- Prepare and review financial statements to ensure compliance with established standards and accuracy.

- Handle property-level accounting functions such as lease accounting, fixed asset management, and account reconciliations.

- Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts while conducting variance analyses to support financial planning.

- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate annual audit and tax preparation activities.

- Monitor cash flow, perform bank reconciliations, and analyze financial performance at the property level.

- Generate detailed work papers and schedules to support corporate, partnership, and property-level reporting requirements.

- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and ensure accuracy in accounting procedures.

- Partner with property management and leadership teams on financial and accounting matters, providing insights and support.

Requirements - Extensive experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting.

- Strong proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and preparing journal entries.

- Demonstrated ability to perform accurate account and bank reconciliations.

- Knowledge of property-level accounting, including lease accounting and fixed asset management.

- Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis techniques.

- Experience supporting audits and tax preparation in collaboration with external professionals.

- Ability to analyze cash flow and monitor financial performance effectively.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
