Accounting Manager

Description

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team in Hartford, Connecticut. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone with strong expertise in hands on financial operations, reporting, and audit preparation. The role involves managing core accounting processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards.

Responsibilities:

- Lead month-end closing procedures, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded.

- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to uphold data integrity.

- Prepare and review journal entries to support financial reporting requirements.

- Conduct account and bank reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.

- Oversee weekly accounts payable runs and ensure timely processing of payments.

- Monitor accounts receivable activities to maintain cash flow and resolve outstanding balances.

- Perform detailed accounting data entry to maintain accurate financial records.

- Assist in audit preparation by organizing and reviewing relevant documentation.

- Collaborate with other departments to address financial inquiries and improve processes.

Requirements - Proven experience with month-end close processes and general ledger management.

- Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations.

- Strong understanding of bank reconciliation procedures.

- Familiarity with accounting software such as Net Suite or similar platforms.

- Knowledge of accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) functions.

- Experience supporting audit preparation and related activities.

- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
