They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax preparation, compliance, and planning for individuals, businesses, and organizations. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent technical skills, the ability to manage multiple engagements, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

• Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and nonprofits
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
• Identify and resolve tax issues, including notices from tax authorities.
• Provide strategic tax planning and consulting services to clients.
• Advise clients on tax implications of business decisions, transactions, and investments.
• Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and communicate potential impacts to clients and the firm.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.
• Address client inquiries and provide clear, concise explanations of tax matters.
• Identify opportunities to expand services for existing clients.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance on technical issues and professional development.
• Review work prepared by staff and provide constructive feedback.
• Assist in training new hires and interns.
• Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Conduct in-depth research on complex tax issues and prepare memorandums or reports.
• Analyze financial statements and tax records to identify potential risks or opportunities.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
• Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting (preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax.
• Proven experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns.
• Experience with tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, Pro System fx, or similar).
• Familiarity with Connecticut state tax laws is a plus.
• Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
