As part of the Private Care's Divisional Leadership team, this role is pivotal in transforming Private Care as a leading centre for private orthopaedic surgery and embedding a culture of continuous improvement through delivering change in processes, ways of working and care delivery to ensure that we work efficiently and that our patients and Consultants enjoy an exceptional experience.
The Senior Matron will also be responsible for the development and implementation of Private Care's clinical strategy and culture, championing clinical standards, and deputising for the Managing Director in their absence.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be responsible for the provision of strong clinical and operational leadership throughout Private Care ensuring that we deliver market-leading patient care which is patient-centred and evidence-based and delivered by a trained, motivated, and compassionate team in line with organisational, regulatory and governance requirements. As a part of this, they will be required to work alongside Trust clinical, nursing, therapy and departmental leadership teams to embed Private Care service standards and operational delivery within shared services.

Job responsibilitiesMAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategy and Transformation -Lead the development of Private Care's clinical services strategy to include both improvement and growth initiatives
- Service Development and Improvement-Champion, inspire and promote the development of a culture of continuous improvement and development within Private Care, working alongside the Divisional Leadership Team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe care
- Clinical LeadershipSupport the delivery of exceptional patient care through visible and accountable clinical leadership, with overall responsibility for the Private Care's operational delivery of clinical care, safety, quality and governance and patient experience
- Operational Management Be responsible for the effective performance of clinical services within Private Care against agreed KPIs and service standards
- Quality and Governance Lead on all matters pertaining to quality, safety and patient experience within Private Care and embed ways of working which promote high standards of safety, quality governance and improvement
- People ManagementResponsible for the management and operations of Private Care's nursing and therapies teams and to ensure that these teams have the appropriate skills, guidance and expertise to deliver a high-quality service to the business and its stakeholders
- Registered Nurse
- Evidence of and commitment to continuous professional development
- Educated to postgraduate degree level or equivalent experience
- Minimum of five years' experience in a senior nursing role within the private sector and proven track record of successful healthcare leadership
- Excellent current knowledge of the legislative and regulatory landscape and its application to nursing practice
- Demonstrable success in delivering transformation programmes to effect change, service improvement, enhanced quality performance and positive financial impact
- Experience of having dealt with complex HR issues
- Excellent communication skills and use of written and spoken English
- Ability to write and present reports
- Confident and professional manner
- Ability to understand and analyse complex performance, financial and clinical data and identify key points to highlight and present to others in a meaningful way
- Confident problem-solver, willing to change processes and ways of working to better meet the needs of the business
