Job summary
The primary purpose of this post is to promote and facilitate the delivery of high quality research activity within London Northwest University Healthcare NHS Trust and to ensure that all such research is conducted in full compliance with Research Governance standards and other statutory obligations.
Main duties of the job- Responsible for initiating and driving an innovative programme of clinical research management improvement projects, whilst maintaining documentary evidence of governance compliance and ensuring organisational compliance with all aspects Trust research including the management and resolution of non‑compliance issues in line with Trust policy.
- Manage the development of a system which enables the recording and tracking of research approval and delivery timelines in accordance with institutional and national requirements.

Person Specification Essential- Educated to degree level.
- Higher degree in relevant discipline such as medical law and ethics, Master’s or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of UK policy framework for Health and Social Care Research, NHS R&D strategy, NHS long term plan and national industrial strategies.
- Thorough knowledge of legal framework around research governance including national and international regulations and legislation.
- High level specialist knowledge of health service, GCP, clinical research and clinical trials management.
- Experience in developing and implementing policy, guidelines and projects from initiation to completion.
- Significant research management experience at a senior level within a scientific or clinical research environment.
- Excellent communication, diplomatic and organisational skills including negotiation.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, databases, statistical packages).
- Formal training in ICH GCP.
- Project management qualification.
- Knowledge of innovation and intellectual property.
- Skills in developing learning, e.g., through teaching or professional development.
