Candidates must hold UK recognised PG Certificate/PG Diploma or Certificate in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent and registered with the HCPC /NMC
Main duties of the job- Perform high quality ultrasound examinations using analytical and judgement skills to interpret complex images.
- Formulate comprehensive, diagnostic, independently written reports for each examination
- Communicate distressing and unwelcome/unexpected news directly to patients using tact, empathy and diplomacy.
- Communicate complex information regarding diagnosis/treatment directly to clinicians and patients.
- Maintain personal clinical expertise in ultrasound scanning including ongoing CPD
- Review, update and maintain the patients clinical records.
- Participate in teaching students and clinicians in the field of ultrasound. Participate in the vetting of ultrasound requests.
- Deal with conflicting demands from different staff groups at all levels.
- Have flexible approach to work and ability to work under pressure of high workloads.

Person Specification Qualifications and Experience- PgCert or equivalent
- HCPC/NMC or equivalent registered body
- CASE accredited course
- UK NHS experience in Ultrasound
- DQASS green flag
- DQASS registration
- Relevant ultrasound experience
- NHS experience
