My client is a respected multidisciplinary building services consultancy delivering high-quality M&E design solutions across commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and mixed-use developments.

They have a strong reputation for technical excellence, collaborative project delivery, and supporting engineers through chartership and long-term career progression.

The Role
You will play a key role in delivering coordinated electrical designs across multiple projects, taking responsibility for LV distribution systems and supporting project delivery from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Design and coordinate LV power distribution systems, including:
Main switchboards and sub-distribution
Cable sizing and routing strategies
Protection and discrimination studies
Small power systems
Lighting and lighting controls
Emergency lighting
Fire alarm and life safety systems
Data and communication systems
Undertake detailed design calculations (load assessments, fault levels, voltage drop analysis)
Produce single line diagrams and technical schematics
Work within AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM environment)
Attend client and design team meetings
Undertake site visits and support commissioning activities
Ensure compliance with:
BS 7671
CIBSE guidance
UK Building Regulations and relevant British Standards
Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate
Skillset:

3-5 years' experience within a building services consultancy
Strong LV design experience across building projects
Confident in electrical calculations and technical coordination
Familiar with industry software such as Amtech/Trimble and Dialux/Relux
Working knowledge of AutoCAD;
Revit experience advantageous
Ambitious and keen to progress toward Senior Engineer level
Ideally working toward professional membership with Institution of Engineering and Technology or CIBSE
