Location: Greenhill

We are seeking a creative and highly effective Media teacher to join our dynamic, high performing English & Media department, joining a team which works tirelessly to improve the outcomes and literacy of our young people. Outcomes in English & Media are strong with good take up at KS4 & 5. The English & Media department also contains the EAL department who provide a full-time provision for students new to the country alongside withdrawal and in class support.

All Y7 & 8 start their day with DEAR and there are a range of whole school literacy initiatives in place.

Responsibilities
  • Be an excellent and ambitious classroom teacher with a proven and demonstrable track record of securing learners' progress in Media; expertise or an interest in English would also be an advantage.
  • Have a good understanding of current educational developments and educational data, especially those relating to literacy, EAL and SEN.
  • Have the highest expectations of students.
  • Have energy, stamina and a sense of humour.
  • Be ambitious and always expect the highest standards from students and staff; provide a creative and stimulating teaching and learning environment in which each and every student feels safe and secure to express themselves and fulfil their optimum potential; deliver a broad and exciting curriculum which stretches all our students and enables them to achieve, develop and extend their life skills;

    create a calm and disciplined environment in which positive relationships flourish; work in co-operation and partnership with our families and wider community in a common endeavour to deliver excellence; develop our students' appreciation and respect for others as well as for themselves; reflect regularly on our school's strengths and areas for development in order to continue to thrive.
