Hours:

Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:00

Contract:

Full-Time, Term-Time Only

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sports Coach / SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Pinner. This unique role combines sports coaching with classroom-based learning support, using physical activity to promote engagement, teamwork, positive behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

Sports Coaching

* Lead and organise structured sports and physical activities that promote teamwork, cooperation, and leadership

* Develop inclusive sports programmes that engage pupils of all abilities

* Use sport as a tool to support behaviour regulation, confidence, and social skills

* Ensure a safe and supportive environment during all physical activities

Classroom & SEN Support

* Support teachers with classroom management and pupil engagement

* Provide targeted support to pupils, particularly those with Autism (ASC)

* Integrate physical activity into learning to support focus and participation

* Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups as required

Student Wellbeing

* Promote mental wellbeing, resilience, and healthy lifestyles through physical activity

* Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs

* Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support individual needs

Collaboration & Communication

* Work collaboratively with staff to plan activities, events, and enrichment programmes

* Maintain basic records of pupil progress and engagement

* Communicate effectively with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues

What We’re Looking For

* Experience in sports coaching, ideally within an educational setting

* Ability to use sport to develop life skills, confidence, and emotional regulation

* Experience supporting pupils with Autism or SEN (highly desirable)

* Relevant coaching qualifications preferred

* Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
