Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and highly effective senior leader to join Hatch End as Deputy Headteacher. We are proud of our collaborative leadership team who work tirelessly to improve the outcomes and life chances of our young people. This Deputy Headteacher role is vital to the provision of a strong culture for learning, high-quality pastoral support, improving standards of achievement for all pupils and the promotion of pupils' personal development and wellbeing.

This role will be responsible for pastoral care, behaviour, culture, community and transition and will embed our 'We Care' values, set high behavioural expectations, engage with our community and lead our pastoral team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent leadership and management, enabling the school to realise its strategic intentions.
  • Support and deputise for the Headteacher in securing the continued improvement and success of the school.
  • Articulate, lead and manage the school's behaviour and pastoral support teams and systems, training staff and monitoring implementation.
  • Lead or line manage the anti-bullying, equalities, transition and community strategies.
  • Leadership of the student council and oversight of the student leadership programme.
  • Direct the assembly and ECC (extra-curricular provision in the curriculum) programmes.
Qualifications
  • Be an outstanding classroom teacher with a proven and demonstrable track record of success at GCSE and A Level.
  • Have sustained and substantial senior leadership experience with an emphasis on pastoral work.
  • Have a good understanding of current educational developments and contextual safeguarding.
  • Be able to analyse, interpret and use data to support pastoral interventions.
  • Have energy, stamina and a sense of humour.
