About the Role

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Brent. This is a hands-on role in a nurturing early years environment, helping children to learn, grow, and thrive.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team, including providing 1:1 support for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and global developmental delay. Strong knowledge of visual supports, PECS, and Makaton is essential to help the child communicate and access learning successfully.

What You’ll Do

* Support children in EYFS through individual, small group, and whole-class activities

* Deliver 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD and global delay

* Use PECS, Makaton, and visual aids to enhance communication and learning

* Assist teachers with planning, preparation, and classroom organisation

* Promote positive behaviour and nurture children’s social and emotional development

* Ensure the classroom environment is safe, engaging, and inclusive

* Support children during playtimes, lunchtimes, and school activities as required

What We’re Looking For

* CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning / EYFS (essential)

* Experience in EYFS and/or working with young children

* Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD and global delay

* Confident in using visuals, PECS, and Makaton

* Patient, caring, and proactive

* Strong teamwork and communication skills

* A passion for helping children reach their potential

* Valid DBS on the Update Service
