EYFS Teaching Assistant (SEN) – Mainstream Primary School Nursery

A welcoming mainstream primary school with a nursery setting in Harrow is seeking an experienced and caring EYFS Teaching Assistant to support two children with Special Educational Needs. This is a highly rewarding role for someone confident working in a sensory-based EYFS environment and supporting children with additional communication needs.
About the Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for two SEN children within a nursery setting
* Support communication using PECS, Makaton, visual timetables, and visual timers
* Assist with sensory regulation, transitions, and emotional support throughout the day
* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
* Help create a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment
* Support learning through play, routines, and personalised EYFS activities
* Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all pupils
What We’re Looking For
* CACHE Level 3 Childcare qualification – essential
* Proven experience working in a nursery or EYFS setting in UK schools.
* Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly communication and sensory needs
* Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, and visual supports
* Calm, patient, and proactive approach
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service – MUST HAVE
