Job Description
The Director of Research primarily serves the interests of the faculty and students of LMU - DCOM at the designated location as they engage in the research process. The Director of Research works to improve research opportunities, funding and working conditions at designated LMU - DCOM locations. The Director of Research is responsible for creating and maintaining the strategic plan for LMU - DCOM research collaborating with the Associate Dean of Research, LMU - DCOM administration, and department chairs.

Job Duties- promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students, and to the community at large
- promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students
- participate on University committees
- provide oversight and administration of the allocation of matching, startup and discretionary funds, distribution of space and facilities, administration of bridge support, and policies relating to research areas
- plan the Research budget with various departments for submission to designated Associate Dean for approval
- establish and maintain communication with Federal agencies and other institutions as needed
- meet regularly with the Associate Dean of Research, the Department chairs and Administrators, and members of the LMU - DCOM faculty to discuss and act on research related matters
- identify and obtain student research opportunities
- provide oversight of student research scholar(s)
- support and guide faculty with IRB and research proposal writing
- hold faculty development sessions based on needs of the faculty
- keep a comprehensive record of research and grant activities and provide reports when requested
- provide research related faculty development and student presentations
- serve as a member of the LMU - DCOM Research Committee
- complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports necessary for the advancement of University programs
- perform other duties as assigned
