The roleAs a Kitchen Assistant in our restaurant, you will report into the Head Chef and be responsible for maintaining the highest standard of cleanliness and tidiness, according to current health and food hygiene legislation, at all times.
Responsibilities- Thoroughly cleaning designated areas, sweeping and mopping floors, ensuring surfaces are hygienically cleaned as instructed by the Line Manager
- Cleaning of fridges, shelving, food preparation areas, cupboards and trolleys
- Managing staff areas including bathrooms and kitchen laundry
- Preparing the dishwasher for the day’s use and advising the manager of faults and chemical requisitions required
- Ensuring dirty crockery and cutlery are cleared from service racks, washed appropriately, stacked correctly or taken to the appropriate outlet
- Keeping designated machines and equipment clean and following cleaning schedules; removing and disposing of rubbish, food waste and recyclables in the correct containers
- Adhering to all legislative requirements including food hygiene and health and safety at work
- Supporting the kitchen in basic food preparation after training when necessary
- A passion for working in a clean and efficient manner, taking pride in responsibilities and upkeep
- High volume experience providing quality and professional cleaning
