Product Manager - Data‑as‑a‑Service (DaaS)

About Us

Chameleon Technology is a market‑leading smart technology company operating at the intersection of energy, data, hardware, and software. With over 13 years’ experience and more than 12 million in‑home displays deployed, our technology is trusted by the UK’s largest energy suppliers and is present in one in three UK homes.

Our products transform complex energy and water usage data into accessible, actionable insights for consumers and energy providers. As we expand into new areas of smart metering and sustainable energy solutions, we are scaling our product organisation to support long‑term growth and innovation.

Our values centre on collaboration, transparency, data‑driven decision making, and continuous improvement. We are building products that support a more sustainable energy future, and a culture that supports the people building them.

About the Role

We are seeking a Product Manager to join our innovative product team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. Reporting to the Director of Products and Propositions, you will be part of a cross‑functional organisation responsible for defining, building, and delivering successful value propositions across software, firmware, and hardware‑enabled products.

  • Evaluate and prioritise opportunities for data products based on commercial value, customer impact, and strategic fit.
  • Own and optimise the P&L for your product line, in partnership with Finance and Commercial teams, including performance against key metrics such as CAC, CLTV, revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, and revenue retention.
  • Translate business goals into product strategies that drive adoption, retention, and profitability.
  • Own the product vision and roadmap for your portfolio, ensuring alignment with company strategy and customer ROI.
  • Shape and refine DaaS propositions, including data packaging, quality, accessibility, and reliability.
Discovery, Delivery & Lifecycle Management
  • Translate complex business and operational challenges into clear, actionable product requirements.
  • Prioritise features and technical work based on impact, effort, and strategic alignment.
  • Work effectively within an Agile Scrum environment, feeding the SDLC with high‑quality content using standard Scrum artefacts and ceremonies.
  • Ensure the end‑user experience is central to all decisions, covering the full customer lifecycle from acquisition to product support.
  • Validate design concepts through user research, testing, feedback loops, EAPs, and data‑driven iteration.
  • Work with data science and engineering teams to improve data availability, data quality, and product performance across the lifecycle.
Customer, Market & Stakeholder Leadership
  • Act as the voice of the customer, informed by qualitative and quantitative insights.
  • Research market trends, competitive developments, and emerging technologies, translating these into differentiated DaaS product opportunities.
  • Work closely with Commercial and Account teams to understand customer business drivers and support strategic sales pursuits with product expertise.
