Overview
We are looking for enthusiastic and hard working healthcare assistants to join our 22 bedded stroke and neurology unit. You will have an interest in stroke and neurology and an understanding of the importance of rehabilitation in the patients recovery. Stroke is very individual to each person and it may be a long recovery, so we want someone who is positive and cheerful and can help motivate the patients each day.
We pride ourselves on providing excellent care for all our patients during their rehabilitation. We are a supportive and diverse team who work together to meet all our patients needs. We are looking for like minded people to become part of this team.
You will work as part of the team to provide compassionate care to our patients, carers and families. This pivotal role is essential in providing care and support to our patients through direct and indirect care, working within clearly defined limits and attainment of agreed competence. Main duties of the job:
You will work without constant direct supervision using initiative within the level of competence for the post, to provide direct and indirect care to our patients. You will act as a role model at all times, reflecting the Trust values and behaviours and delivering high standards of care. You will be self-aware and open to receive and learn from feedback.
You will act as an advocate on behalf of our patients recognising, respecting and responding to the diverse needs of our population. You will undertake a range of clinical skills to assist medical and nursing colleagues with investigations and procedures. Our healthcare assistants are expected to work a combination of days, nights and weekends including Bank Holidays and Christmas Day.

- Late - 12:15hrs to 20:15hrs
- Night - 19:45hrs to 07:45hrs
- Long Day - 07:15hrs to 20:15hrs
