As Associate Director of Nursing for Planned and Surgical Care at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust, you will work closely with the Operational Director and Clinical Director as part of a leadership triumvirate. You will lead and develop nursing teams across the Directorate, ensuring the delivery of high quality care and a positive patient experience. Your role involves setting standards of nursing care, providing professional guidance to nurses and the multi‑disciplinary team, and acting as a role model reflecting the Trust values and behaviours.

Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding nursing leadership across the Directorate, working with senior nursing, midwifery and allied health professional leaders to ensure delivery of high quality care and a positive patient experience.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on nursing and quality related matters as part of the Directorate Triumvirate.
  • Lead and develop a safe, skilled and competent workforce, ensuring the implementation of an effective plan for continuing professional development and robust governance.
  • Support the Deputy Director of Nursing and Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals (NMAHPs) in delivering a comprehensive nursing education programme that supports ongoing learning and professional development within the financial framework and demonstrates an innovative approach recognising different ways of learning.
  • Support the Deputy Director of NMAHPs in developing clinical practice, ensuring a just and learning culture, promoting professional curiosity and creating a positive learning environment.
