Yorkshire Health Network (YHN) is looking for an experienced Nurse Associate. This is a newly created role and is an exciting opportunity to join a team of dedicated professionals who promote shared working and collaboration to support the sustainability of primary care for local people.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will work within the multi-disciplinary team to deliver safe, compassionate, and person-centered care under the supervision of a registered nurse or other registered healthcare professionals.
The Nurse Associate will work 5 days a week, Tuesday to Saturday between the hours of 08:30 and 20:00 to support the delivery of nursing services, long-term condition monitoring, micro suction, lung health, and much more.

- Work in a team, playing an active role as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, collaborating and communicating effectively with nurses and a range of other healthcare professionals.
- Deliver care independently in line with a person's defined plan of care, within the parameters of the Nursing Associate role, accessing clinical and care advice when required.
- Signpost patients to other appropriate services or professionals as required for a person's care, having an awareness of the available support and services across other healthcare providers.
- Perform clinical tasks such as blood pressure monitoring, venipuncture, ECG recordings, urinalysis and specimen collection, wound assessment and dressing, BMI measurements, basic chronic disease monitoring, spirometry and micro suction.
- Ensure care environment is clean and tidy at all times and that IPC requirements are met. This includes (but is not limited to) being responsible for completing the room cleaning audit sheet at the end of a session and ensuring clinical waste is emptied and taken to the outside bin.
- Support with stock management and basic clinical audits.
- Handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Commitment to patient-centered, holistic care.
- Experience in providing primary care across a range of conditions and age groups.
- 2 years post registration experience.
- Experience in working within an Enhanced Access service.
- Experience in lung health, spirometry and micro suction.
- Foundation Degree (FdSc) or Nurse Associate Apprenticeship.
- Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£27,000 to £30,000 a year depending on experience
