Tax Manager

An established and well-regarded independent accountancy firm in Harrogate is seeking a Tax Manager to join its team following the planned retirement of a long-standing colleague.

This is a hybrid working opportunity.

It will suit an experienced personal tax specialist or someone from a mixed tax background looking to concentrate more heavily on personal tax compliance within a stable and supportive firm.

The Role

• Management of a portfolio of personal tax clients, overseeing the preparation and review of personal tax returns
• Responsibility for compliance work across a broad range of individuals, including HNWIs and more complex cases
• Work on more technical areas, including non-resident trusts and share schemes
• Acting as a point of contact for clients, building long-term relationships and providing clear, practical advice
• Supporting and reviewing the work of junior team members where appropriate

Candidate Profile

• ATT, CTA qualified or qualified by experience
• Strong background in tax compliance
• Comfortable managing a client portfolio and handling compliance work independently
• Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
