Overview
This is a brand new, client facing, commercial focused Senior Management Accountant position working for a fast growing, owner managed SME based in Harrogate! The business has been through some impressive growth over the last 18 months, and as a result, are now looking to hire a Senior Management Accountant into a newly created role! The position will report directly to the CFO and work alongside a small management accounts team with ownership and responsibility of high profile clients.
This newly created position (as a consequence of a new acquisition in the last 6 months) is a well rounded and hands on role, encompassing both business partnering, client management and management accounts preparation! Because this is a new role, the business can consider someone either 4 or 5 days per week - so if you are looking for a role with reduced hours/days, this would also be an option for the right candidate!
Reporting to the Finance Director, the key duties of role will include:
- Ensuring the monthly management accounts, balance sheet lead schedules and cashflow forecasts are produced and submitted within the agreed client reporting deadlines.
- Ensuring any other client contractual requirements are delivered and support with client annual statutory audits.
- To review and approve client annual operating budgets with the operations team before presentation.
- To attend Client meetings and lead from a Finance perspective and complete any actions arising.
- To ensure Financial Regulations, standard operating procedures and controls are always maintained.
- To ensure the team provide the highest level of customer service both to our internal and external stakeholders.
- To act as a business partner between Finance and other departments to ensure consistent and joined up ways of working.
- To ensure compliance with any statutory returns or accreditation requirements that arise e.g. Client Money Audit and VAT.
- To support on ad-hoc tasks and reporting.
- Be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, - Essential
- Have a minimum of 3 years experience within a relevant management accounts role - Essential
- Have exceptional communication and presentation skills and the ability to engage and influence with non-finance stakeholders - Essential
- Flexible Hybrid Working - 3 days office and 2 days from home
- 4 days will be considered!
- ACCA/CIMA study support (if required)
