Senior Quantity Surveyor

Marmion – Harrogate, UK

We’re searching for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing consultancy offering excellent career progression and strategic involvement opportunities. Working across healthcare, commercial, industrial, heritage, and residential projects, this consultancy provides continuous exposure to a variety of projects.

Key Skills & Experience
  • RICS chartered or equivalent.
  • 5+ years post‑qualification Quantity Surveyor experience.
  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar related degree.
  • Proven experience on private sector projects – Commercial, Healthcare, residential, industrial, retail.
  • Strong pre‑ and post‑contract experience. JCT and NEC suite of contracts.
  • Background in construction; solid understanding of tender processes.
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
  • UK resident within the local area.
  • No visa sponsorship available.
The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be responsible for assessing and managing the full commerciality of projects and delivering cost consultancy services for a variety of clients, projects and developments. You will provide valued insight into the profitability and risks associated with existing and future client projects, whilst managing and overseeing all financial aspects of construction projects, from feasibility through to final account.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure projects are delivered within budget and to the highest standards.
  • Establish client requirements and undertake feasibility studies.
  • Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, including materials, quantities, labour, and time.
  • Prepare tender and contract documents; negotiate contracts and work schedules.
  • Contract administration including valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Provide cost analysis, advice, and reports to clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support and mentor more junior members of the team.
