Britain’s Got Startups (BGS) is a fast-growing, founder-led platform connecting ambitious startups with investors, partners, and opportunities across the UK.
We’re looking for a highly organised, proactive Executive Assistant to support the BGS team during a busy growth phase. This is a hands‑on, trusted role where you’ll be closely involved in the day‑to‑day running of the business, helping keep everything organised, prioritised, and moving forward.
This is a full‑time, employed, 6‑month fixed‑term role running from February to July 2026, with the potential to transition into (at a minimum) a part‑time ongoing position after the contract ends (it could be full‑time depending on budgets).
The RoleYour core purpose is to support the BGS team by managing organisation, logistics, communication, and priorities, allowing the business to operate smoothly during a high‑growth period.
You’ll work closely with the team on a daily basis, supporting both business and ad‑hoc personal tasks, and playing a key role in keeping events, meetings, and operations running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Managing calendars, inboxes, and priorities for the BGS team
- Acting as a first point of organisation and triage
- Preparing meeting notes, reminders, and follow‑ups
- Supporting communications with founders, investors, and partners
- Supporting the delivery of Britain’s Got Startups events across the UK
- Booking venues, travel, accommodation, and schedules
- Coordinating logistics before, during, and after events
- Using Hub Spot CRM to manage contacts and communications
- Supporting task and project management using Click Up and
- Tracking actions, deadlines, and priorities to ensure nothing is missed
- Providing wider operational and administrative support to the team as required
- Assisting with ad‑hoc personal and business‑related tasks when needed
This role will suit someone who is exceptionally organised, detail‑focused, and comfortable supporting a small, fast‑moving team.
You’ll be proactive, calm under pressure, and confident juggling multiple priorities in a startup environment where no two days look the same.
You’ll ideally have:
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Experience managing email inboxes and calendars
- Familiarity with CRM and task management tools, or the ability to learn quickly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A high level of discretion and professionalism
You must be comfortable working in an office with dogs present — they’re part of the culture.
Location and Working StyleThe role is based in Harrogate and will be primarily office‑based, with some flexibility for hybrid working when appropriate. This is a full‑time role for the duration of the fixed‑term contract and national travel is expected, where working away from home will be frequent (2‑3 times per month).
Salary and Contract£28,000 per annum, pro rata
