- This individual will be directly involved with engineers and operators related to the glass handling process and equipment
- Assist Engineering Dept. Heads and Engineers with achieving process objectives, identifying sources of variation, improving processes, and providing support for product developments.
- Responsible for line specific day-to-day operation and executing a small scope continuous improvement or learning opportunity.
- Work reviews with plant leadership will occur mid-summer and end of summer.

- Provide engineering expertise for fundamental understanding of manufacturing issues
- Solve process issues through data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration with subject matter experts
- Provide engineering-level production support to manufacturing operations
- Recommend and implement improvements to processes and equipment
- Lead and/or support projects involving cost reduction, process optimization, and new technology migrations into the plant
- Work with other team members and departments to ensure that product output at each process step meets or exceeds manufacturing budgets and goals
- We are looking for candidates with a strong level of technical curiosity and deliver creative solutions to technical challenges.
- Pending Junior or Senior in Engineering Major (preference for Mechanical, Electrical, or Material Science majors)
- Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May 27th — July 31st, 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later.
- Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.

- Experience with experimental design
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work on an independent basis in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills
- Basic knowledge of Six Sigma (DMAIC / DESGN) methodology
