Job Summary:

Astemo Americas, Inc. is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join its team in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. This position, under limited direction, will perform complex quality assurance assignments requiring diversified knowledge of engineering, manufacturing and quality assurance to cost effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives. This role will also proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure contract compliance by reviewing and approving quality requirements for supplier purchase orders, manufacturing, and other related services
  • Collaborate with representatives from various functional groups assigned to the product or program, including but not limited to design engineering, purchasing, production, manufacturing engineering, and inspection staff
  • Collaborate with teams of engineers and product specialists to ensure customer and division quality requirements are met for supplier part
  • Review design, manufacturing, and testing documentation from suppliers
  • Facilitates planning and development of quality control systems for supplied components, specified products or processes
  • Support the develops of quality metrics, design and production certification plans for programs changes to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements
  • Support and develops quality criteria to support supplier selection activities
  • Counsel suppliers and customers, recommending changes as appropriate to improve quality and optimize their operations
  • Leads various reviews/Kaizens to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs
  • Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure supplier controls
  • Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances purchased components
  • Develop and implements corrective action plans for supplied parts
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved by purchased components
  • Evaluate new technologies and methods to make recommendations regarding their use
  • Plan, assemble and present to senior management and customers, data to support supplied component activities
  • Counsel management in resolving complex problems requiring in-depth knowledge of technical aspects of quality assurance
Requirements:
  • More than 3 years of experience in manufacturing or manufacturing support the environment
  • More than 3 years of experience do you have with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and implementing corrective actions
  • More than 3 years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
  • Knowledge for Quality Systems (PPAP/IPPAAR part approval, CAPA corrective/preventive actions)
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T), print interpretation
Education: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

Experience: 5 - 10 years of experience in Quality position or engineering

Physical Demands:
Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Occasional overtime will be required.

Travel:
Some domestic and international travel may be required up to 20%.
