Employment Status: Full-Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Experience Required: Related experience in operation of this type of equipment
Minimum Education Requirements: High School Diploma/GED
Direct Supervisor: Landfill Superintendent
Primary Work Location: Outdoors-Landfill
Physical requirements: This is operative work requiring the exertion of up to and exceeding 50 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
Certification: CDL preferred but not required

Job Summary:
To operate and maintain a roll-off truck to haul refuse within the Landfill site and disposing of it on the active face

Essential Job Functions

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential duties:

• Operate roll-off truck designed to pick up refuse containers at the Landfill to haul waste and recyclables from point to point
• Perform pre-trip inspections of the vehicle
• Maintain trucks and equipment as needed
• Record and document hauls
• Perform related tasks as required
• A CDL driver may be required to remove recyclables from the Landfill to approved vendors or assist with hauling waste and recyclables from other sites

Knowledge

• Relevant equipment, policies,, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions

Skills

• Control operations of equipment or systems
• Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
• Monitor/Assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
• Ability to use a smart-phone as part of a work order system

Abilities

• Quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
• Regular work attendance is required
