The Recreation Attendant Senior - Facilities position is a year-round part-time position (no benefits) and a preferred hiring rate of $17.57 per hour; however, an exact salary will be dependent upon the selected candidate's qualifications/experience and in compliance with City policy.
When you join our team as a Recreation Attendant Senior in Facilities, you'll take the lead during unsupervised hours, ensuring that all customer interactions - whether in person or by phone - are professional and informative. Additionally, you'll be responsible for overseeing the safety and well-being of program areas, patrons, and staff, promoting Parks & Recreation offerings, leading or assisting with a variety of programs and activities, and handling office equipment and software for routine data entry, transaction processing, daily receipt reconciliation, and financial record preparation.
- High school diploma or GED and moderate (1-3 years) experience in a customer service position or a recreational environment
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license.
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required within the first three months of employment.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule to meet business requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

The selected candidate for this position will be subject to the following screenings and must receive satisfactory results:
- Drug screening;
- DMV record check; and
- Criminal background check.
This position is subject to the City of Harrisonburg's random drug testing program.
