Housekeeping Technician

Overview

Housekeeping Technician - Full-Time - Days at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community, Inc.

The position is primarily responsible for the general cleaning, floor care, refurbishment and renovation of private residences as well as public areas when needed.

• 6:00 am-2:00 pm, Monday-Friday OR
• 7:00 am-3:30 pm, Saturday rotation every 3rd weekend
• 80 hours per pay period
• Eligible for benefits at time of hire

Based upon previous work experiences and qualifications, the starting rate of pay is $15.00 - $17.79 per hour.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a pleasant personality and demeanor, as well as demonstrate a desire to work in an environment with residents. Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written assignments; ability to perform the duties listed in the job description with limited supervision.
• Self-motivated, able to schedule time wisely and accommodate changes. Must have a pleasant personality, enjoy working with people, have good manners, and be able to deal tactfully with others: excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Strong work ethic, fast learner.
• Ability to work quickly and carefully in a safe manner, and motivate others to do the same.
• Must be able to operate all power equipment throughout the VMRC campus safely.
• Works in reaching or strained positions for about half of the day.
• Must report to work in uniform.
• This position also requires an acceptable DMV driving record to obtain authorization on the VMRC-approved drivers list if driving a VMRC vehicle is needed.
